Of Assemblies and Evasions
A short post about important issues
First of all, with the rally in DC today, and the continual obsession of some corners with climate change, it is worth reminding everybody about our recent post on the matter.
Now for the other elephant in the room, להבדיל. Recently, we have suffered what I can only describe as the Morning of the Short Knives. Our dear friend, in a fit of rage, suddenly went on a banning spree on Sunday morning, purging all his opponents from his blog. The bloodbath continued until well into Monday. I assume that he started getting paranoid that we are undermining his continuous stream of anti-chareidi invective, and he felt he was losing control of the narrative, which he has been for a while. No doubt that the slow business at the museum is likely taking an additional toll on his mental health, giving him plenty of extra time to focus on his life obsession, which is not good for him at all.

Oh well, so much for the Modox being open to hearing other views. We always knew that was a sham, but the Morning of the Short Knives dispelled all doubt.

This takes me to what I really wanted to talk about. Yesterday, I heard some very disturbing mutterings coming from the victims of the ban binge. There were suggestions of evading the bans, by using a free service such as 10-minute email, to quickly and easily set up new Substack accounts any time one is banned. This can be done on an unlimited basis, potentially indefinitely. There were even more devious suggestions of blocking Natan’s profile before commenting, so that he doesn’t get notified, which would make it much harder for him to delete the offending comments and ban the offending accounts.

All I want to say is, I strongly discourage all of this. It is immoral, unethical, against the TOS, against halakha (Jewish law), and contrary to derekh eretz (proper ethical conduct). I am disappointed in you guys for even discussing it. We can be better than this. We must be better than this.
However, I do think it would be quite appropriate for us to write emails to elected officials, thanking them for their support and encouraging future support.
If someone can make a list of such officials, with their email addresses and current stands on issues of Jews and Israel, we can use it to influence them to make positive decisions for us.
Remember, during the Yom Kippur war, Kissinger's position was to let the Jews bleed a little. Don't put anything past these politicians.

It's sad - when most yidden have a slow business period, they spend some extra time in the Beis Medrash.
Natan, whose salary comes from public funds, can't do that (besides the obvious reasons) because if so he'd be taking a government stipend to sit and learn. That'd never do.
So instead he's taking your tax dollars to sit in his pajamas by his computer. Whatever.
