Shechina is commonly used in the Charedi world. In more academic circles, they'll use a "kh" for a ื and a "ch" for a ื. Shechina is spelled with a ื.
It is still a shock to me when I hear someone pronounce the "ch" as an "h" sound, because I always read it in my head as a "ch" sound and I'm just like, "who/what are they talking about?"
It's very disturbing to me how Slifkin seems to have taken upon himself to try as hard as he can to sow division between the religious zionist and Chareidi communities. I work in the IDF rabbanut, and while I do occasionally here nuanced criticisms of the Charedi position, nobody will ever speak with such rabid hatred as he does. Furthermore, nobody there denies that Torah protects us in battle. Just yesterday I saw a poster for a day of learning on one of the bases organized by the rabbanut. On the poster was a quote from ืืืืช ืืฃ ื:
"This is all the more true since October 7th, when hundreds of IDF soldiers have fallen and many others have been injured, including a large number from the national-religious community, but none from the charedi community."
This completely false statement from beginning to end. There are THOUSANDS injured, not "many others," and you hardly hear any details about them. I know one of them personally, my former neighbor's (of 19 years) son who I saw grow up in Beitar Illit. He was badly injured some weeks back and was in the ICU for many days, some in an induced coma. B"H and BE"H he won't be a statistic that is reported on in name. As it is, I saw a picture of the shrapnel that he took, and heard where he took it, and saw another picture where B"H he is standing on his own two feet with a largely intact body. But he has quite a recovery ahead of him still.
Natan is a malicious liar. He can barely speak authoritatively about anything, but he is as privy to details on injured soldiers as we are, which is, a fraction of the details we told about deaths. One anecdote demolishes his entire edifice. If he weren't so bitter and angry, he would identify more with the minority (so he claims) of those who seek understanding and rapprochement rather than recrimination and hatred. He's just a weak reed. A herd follower. He chose the wrong herd.
Yes, and I understand this, which is why Natan's blanket statement is so offensive. He knows no more than you or I, yet pontificates with certainty just the same.
No, he just took the other letter and adapted the words to be about being religious and keeping the Torah instead of being about the army. The other letter had a line about how even if one does not want to join the army, they still do so out of responsibility etc.
i can't talk for Yo, but i get what he's saying - we do it because we have to, not because it's geshmak. and so often it is really not geshmak. you're tired, interested in looking at these blogs, commenting on these blogs, would rather chill, read some science books, get into politics, hock, schmooze, space out, crack a joke, listen to some tunes, text a friend... but we push and do it even when it's not geshmak because we hafta!
but that doesn't mean we don't love it at the same time.
Amazing!
Parody aside, it is a good point!
Y'now what I really struggle with?
When do I write "ch" or "kh" or "h"? Wrote Shekhinah but it felt off. Changed it, but it still looks weird.

So it's Charedi, not Haredi. ๐๐ฟ
No, they use h for a ื (often with a dot underneath).
It is still a shock to me when I hear someone pronounce the "ch" as an "h" sound, because I always read it in my head as a "ch" sound and I'm just like, "who/what are they talking about?"
At least you didn't have to deal with 'zizith'.
Ziziths is worth a ton of points in Scrabble, which makes that spelling worth it.

I'm sure Slifkin has a clever explanation for that as well.
Hi friend, would you like to write a guest post for Irrationalist Modoxism about these issues? We already have several posts from a religious soldier

Oh , dont worry he has quoted it already.
Thanks for this , its good to know that we are not unjustly hated by everyone. (Especially those actually in the army)
After reading such nonsense for a period of time you begin to wonder.
Normal RZ people don't hate ืืจืืื, only the extreme left-wing part (and most of them hate ืืจื"ืืื even more)
Great Job!
He is losing control of his narrative pretty hard over there.

R' Shimshon,
Almost no one in the ืืืืื ื media speaks about the injured, from all ืืืืจืื.
It appears ince DNS gets all of his information from them, it's not surprising that he wouldn't know that.
That's standard reporting practice anywhere in the world. Wartime injury details are not reported in too much detail to avoid demotivation.
Deaths cannot be 'hidden' im the same way so are reported.

Exactly. But shulman is correct as well.
yah that's probably it lol
good for you khoker, but if so you missed the whole point of this letter... it was a parody of a letter slifkin was promoting

that's my take...
I am guessing, but I think he means it's an acquired taste, which it is.
